A half-century blistering Matthew Wade helped Hobart Hurricanes, team leaders, beat Adelaide Strikers in Launceston by 7-989. The Wade hit 88 of 54 balls in the Big Bash League showdown on Thursday night, but hurricanes fell late, losing 5-19 within the last four overs. The captain of Hobart, who struck eight limits and two sixes, was given a life at age 40 when he was expelled from the field by Michael Neser alongside Ben Laughlin. Wade also skied a ball at 86 which should have been taken before being caught in the front by Laughlin (3-31) the next ball.
After the hurricanes were sent to the UTAS Stadium, Wade split a 59-race booth with D & # 39; Arcy Short, who was caught in Laughlin by 26 from 19 balls. The hurricanes seemed on track for a huge score until the strikers put the breaks at the end.
Afghan spinner Rashid Khan and Neser took two wickets each. Jake Lehmann, of Adelaide, who conceded 15 goals, finished the field in the final with a finger injury.
Sixth-placed Strikers called Harry Nielsen, Cameron Valente and Wes Agar to the side that lost a lot to the Sydney Sixers.
