The AFL pre-season of 2019 begins today, with the traditional rivals Carlton and Essendon starting the JLT Community Series.

Carlton took 7.6 (48) to Essendon 4.5 (29) at halftime with new recruits Mitch McGovern and Michael Gibbons, each kicking two goals.
