This year's event seems to have great revelations, spearheaded by the new Mazda 3 and Porsche 911.
Starting at 30th of NovemberThe Great Auto Show in Los Angeles, California, is one of the largest on the calendar for North America, next to the New York International Motor Show and the largest North American Motor Show in Detroit.
More than 1000 different vehicles will be displayed during this year's event, including a series of new and upcoming revelations and model releases.
Many of them have already been revealed, either online or during special events, but there is still much to be shown and some have not yet been viewed.
What can we expect from this year's show when the doors open this week? See our growing list below, but expect more than a few surprises too.
BMW
The Bavarian luxury brand has some great premieres for Los Angeles, including the brand-new Sedan M340i (above), and the 8 Series Convertible (below).
Following the revelation of the wide 3 Series range in Paris earlier this year, the M340i will be the performance hero by the time the M3 arrives, equipped with a 3.0-liter 275kW / 500Nm turbocharged engine.
In North America, the M340i will be available with both rear wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive, while markets like Australia will have to settle for the latter. BMW claims a time of 0 to 100 sprints of just 4.4 seconds for the xDrive version.
Meanwhile, the 8 Series Convertible is the newest member of the company's flagship sports car range, joining the 8 Series hardtop coupe series. At launch, the 840d xDrive six-cylinder diesel and M850i xDrive twin-turbo V8 versions will be offered, with specifications broadly aligned with the foldable fabric roof coupe bar.
Other highlights at the BMW booth include the new X5 and X7 SUVs, the first having just been launched in Australia, with the latter going to Down Under in the second quarter of 2019.

Hyundai
Korea will be heavily represented in LA this year, with Hyundai unveiling its new flagship SUV, the Palisade.
Located above Santa Fe in the global line of business, Palisade has been confirmed to provide seating for up to eight people and will be available with the company's latest driver assistance and active safety systems.
A leaked image of the production model appeared online a few weeks ago, showing that Palisade will differentiate even more from Santa Fe compared to the Grand Santa Fe currently being sold in numerous markets on the left as North America and parts of Europe.
Palisade is still a hook proposal only at this stage, discarding it to our market, at least initially. Would you be interested in a full-size Hyundai over a Mazda CX-9 or Toyota Kluger?

Jeep
The iconic American off-roader will officially unveil the new Wrangler model Gladiator in Los Angeles, reviving an old plate of Jeep history.
We've already seen leaked images of the new utility, which come as no surprise – it's a Wrangler cabin with a tray nailed to the back.
According to a leaked press pack published in an enthusiasts' forum, Gladiator will launch exclusively with a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine, equipped with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic with four-wheel drive selectable and available differential locks to maintain Wrangler's off-road ability.
The leaked documents also appear to confirm the availability of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel turbocharger from 2020, which will come as standard with an automatic, inactive eight-speed stop / start technology.
We still do not know if he's coming to Australia, but it would be almost idiotic not to bring him here, considering the ceaseless seat of the market for double cabins.

Kia
The new generation Soul will make its global debut in Los Angeles this week, ahead of a sale date in North America during the first half of 2019.
Although not a big selling success locally, Soul is an overseas halo model, and is proven popular in places like the US and Europe.
At launch, there will be three engines available: a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline engine, a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine and an all-electric model called Soul EV.
Kia has confirmed that the new Soul will be offered for the first time in the SUV's X line, which should fill the small SUV gap in the company's product line until the production version of the SP concept arrives later this year.
The next generation of Soul should also be offered with the company's latest driver assistance and active safety systems, including stand-alone emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop & go and on-track assistance.

Lincoln
Ford's luxury arm will revive the Aviator name tag in the form of a three-line sports utility based on the same name concept unveiled for this year's New York Motor Show earlier this year.
Believed to be on its way to a North American launch in the second half of next year, Aviator will be based on a new rear-wheel drive platform that will be shared with the next-generation Ford Explorer, and will be a kind of technology showcase. .
The Aviator will offer a range of semi-autonomous driver assistance technologies, a fully digital instrument panel, 30-way power adjustment for the front seats, Wi-Fi hotspot, numerous charging points for mobile devices and the option of one brand hybrid powertrain plug-in.
Although we will probably never see the Aviator in Australia anytime soon, it can predict what's to come for the new Ford Explorer, which is supposedly developed for the right-hand drive – which could put it on the cards for our market.

Mazda
The new Mazda 3 It is scheduled to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, marking the first major redesign of Japan's popular small car since 2013.
So far, we know that the next-generation hatchback and sedan will strongly inspire last year's Kai concept in terms of in-and-out design, coupled with Mazda's new SkyActiv-X compression ignition gasoline engine technology – the latter said it offers the low torque and efficiency of a diesel engine without the NOX emissions or energy deficit.
A new driver-focused cab layout will also be introduced, incorporating more sophisticated materials compared to the current model, along with the possibility of a new infotainment system and the wider implementation of Mazda's driver assistance technologies.
There's no word on when the new 3 will hit the local showrooms yet, but expect the new generation model to be a top-selling hit.

Mercedes-AMG / Mercedes-Benz
The three-pointed star will be revealing the AMG GT R Pro, along with a revised range of GT coupes and Roadsters.
Envisioned with a camouflaged teaser image (above) the GT R Pro will be based on the already wild AMG GT R, and will be a limited edition model designed to "deliver even more track performance" design in the GT3 and GT4 versions of Supercar under the order of AMG.
It is not known whether the 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 will have a torque and power torque, but the company has confirmed that we can expect yet another more aggressive aerodynamic package along with internal and external design changes shared with the greater variety.

Nissan
The facelifted 2019 Maxima will be detailed at the LA event this week after being unveiled in a single image at the end of October.
In addition to the small design changes shown in the image above, the new Maxima will be available with the company's Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology suite, which includes stand-alone emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warning and departure warning track.
There are also new full-LED headlamps, probably reserved for high-specification models, and it is likely that the upgraded sedan will be available with Nissan's new 2.0-liter turbocharged variable-compression turbocharged gasoline engine, Infiniti. QX50 SUV.
While Maxima was removed from the local list years ago, it still serves as an important model in the company's North American line as its main passenger car.

Porsche

Subaru
Following its revelation last week, the Hybrid Subaru Crosstrek will make his public debut at the Los Angeles show.
Subaru's first plug-in hybrid uses the technology of the Toyota Prius Prime PHEV, combining a naturally aspirated 102kW / 182Nm 2.0-liter boxer with two electric motors and a 8.8kWh battery.

Toyota
Toyota will unveil the hybrid version of its new Corolla Sedan at the end of this week marking the first time the company's small car was offered in the United States with a gasoline-electric powertrain.
We already know the new sedan – it was unveiled in China two weeks ago – though only the 125kW / 200Nm 2.0-liter Dynamic Force petrol engine has been detailed in the breakthrough.
Compared with the related hatchback, the Corolla sedan rides a slightly longer (2700mm) wheelbase and should offer a more accommodating boot area.
Australians will have to wait "over a year" to see the sedan locally, according to the local arm, indicating a launch in late 2019 or early 2020 for Australia.
