With axis in the salary discussion by theme Revenue and end-of-year bonuses, the Transport sector will hold on Tuesday, between 4 and 7 in the morning, assemblies of workers that will affect the services of the collectives – both short, medium and long, trains, subways, ports, airplanes and trucks. They consider that in the middle of the morning, the different services will be standardized.
The degree of real impact of the service in each sector will depend on how active the sets are. In any case, the Argentine Confederation of Transport Workers (CATT), which manages Juan Carlos Schmid, warned that "services will always suffer".
Despite this, it is enough to remember that the conflict with the Airlines and Austral Airlines on November 8 began with scheduled morning assemblies from 7 to 10 that ended up extending until nearly 6 in the afternoon causing chaos.
The port of Schmid also leads Fempinra (Federation of Ports) so it is assumed that in this sector there will be a greater impact. In fact, the union leader chose the port terminal that faces Comodoro Py to give, on Tuesday at 8 am, a press conference to announce the steps to follow and tell the extent of the measure.
Guillermo Dietrich. The minister will receive transport corporations on Monday.
But in the middle of a meeting with the government occurred. It will be this Monday afternoon and an "open agenda" between this sector and ministers Guillermo Dietrich (Transport) and Dante Sica (Production). Official sources noted that "the meeting was marked before the conflict with the aeronautics". Although they mark this there is no space to disassemble the sets they clarify "that we are doing everything to not affect the services," leaving a door open and perhaps asking them to re-establish service for the 6 who start peak hours. They will also try to contain the union leaders so that the conflict does not increase.
It is always valid, and perhaps also serves as a negotiating tool, the possibility of the government imposing on Congress the law that declare public passenger transport as an "essential service" which would limit the impact of force measurements. It is worth remembering that in June 2017 there was an attempt on the part of the Cambiemos to treat this law in deputies, but failed for lack of quorum.
In addition, the joint effect also acts on the trade union thermometer of the sector. For example, truckers have already closed the contract until May and 40%. UTA's Roberto Fernandez is still negotiating with the cameras on salary adjustments with uncertain future, while the four railroad unions readjusted in October.
According to statistics managed by CATT, profits affect more than 80% of workers. And who will collect the bonus is still unclear, since the companies have not yet defined it. Of course, Schmid has already fixed his position, which combines the union demands that will lead to the table: "If the bonus pays for profits, they take us like idiots."
