A 38-year-old woman living in El Bolsón was transferred to the Hospital de Bariloche, where she was hospitalized with symptoms of probable hantavirus, and as it was established that the case is related to the situation in Epuyén, in Chubut, Negro ruled out the existence of an outbreak of the disease in his province.
The studies for the patient were sent to the Malbrán Institute of Buenos Aires, which will determine if it is really a case of hantavirus.
The Media Secretariat of the Río Negro government through its website reported that in a preventive manner, the staff of the El Bolsón Hospital ordered the isolation of the patient's family, whose members are being attended by the municipality with the coverage of their needs and the monitoring of corresponding health.
The patient referred to Bariloche had entered El Bolsón hospital last Wednesday, but it happened that she had already been in contact with her father when he had to be hospitalized in Esquel, Chubut, in observation as a suspected case of hantavirus that was subsequently discarded.
Anyway, the woman now hospitalized in Bariloche to accompany her father in Esquel went to a health center where there were other patients infected. Because the woman was affected in the circumstances pointed out in the province of Chubut, the web page of the Secretariat of the Rio Negro government says that until now "the possibility of an outbreak in El Bolsón is ruled out."
