Crdoba.- December 1 is World AIDS Day. In this context, on Friday, November 30, a rapid test for HIV / AIDS, viral syphilis and hepatitis will be held at St. Martn Square. The test is voluntary, confidential and free and the result is 20 minutes. The activity will take place from 10 to 16 people and will have counselors and counseling before and after testing, delivery of materials and condoms. In addition, there will be an open radio run by La Ranchada and artistic and cultural presentations.
The importance of diagnosis
The HIV test is the only way to know if you live with the virus or not. Knowing the diagnosis facilitates access to treatments, which in Argentina are free and guarantee a good quality of life. On the other hand, the offer of the HIV test is part of the diagnostic expansion strategy aimed at reducing the number of people who do not know their serological condition.
For several years now, Argentina and Crito have adhered to the 90-90-90 goals that suppose to increase the proportion of people with HIV who know their diagnosis to 90%; of people undergoing antiretroviral treatment and those receiving treatment with an undetectable viral load.
The test at Plaza San Martn is proposed to bring the test to people who for various reasons have not yet done so and is organized in coordination between the Ministry of Health, the Municipality of Crdoba, the National University of Córdoba, the College of Biochemistry of Córdoba and different civil society organizations.
The allusive activities began on Friday, November 23, with training for health team collaborators and civil society organizations that will participate in the test.
On Monday, 26, the presentation on Advances in Strategy for the Elimination of Vertical Transmission (HIV), syphilis, hepatitis B and decrease in Chagasic congestion in the Province of Cordoba will be presented. The activity is directed to health teams and transmitted live by video streaming.
On Tuesday 27th at 4:30 p.m., there will be a film-debate at the Rawson Hospital, where the short film of Quererte will be transmuted. The HIV test, syphilis and hepatitis will also be performed for the health team in general and for the health teams in training in particular.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday 28 will present the experience of approaching HIV in prisoners at Bower Prison. It will take place at 11:30 am at Rawson Hospital.
Finally, on Friday, the 30th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be a training session and a Jam Glass Band concert at Rawson Hospital. In addition, the meeting of the Interdisciplinary AIDS Society of Argentina (SAISIDA) and the Infectological Society of Cordoba will be held at the Centro Médico Crdoba.
