New previously hidden region of the discovered human brain

The function of the Nucleus Endorestiform is still unknown but is located near the junction of the brain and spinal cord in the inferior cerebellar peduncle, an area that combines sensory and motor information to refine our balance, posture, and fine motor control. For this reason, Professor Paxinos theorizes that the new region could play an important role in motor movements and could aid in the search for treatments for diseases such as Parkinson's disease and motor neurons.
