Industrial activity fell 9.4% last November compared to the same month in 2017, mainly due to the negative performance of the textile, non-metallic mineral and automotive sectors, according to the report released Thursday by the Center for Industry Studies . the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA).
The report shows that, in the first 11 months of the year, the activity decreased by 2.7%, also in the year-over-year comparison, while the fall was 3.4% in relation to the previous month, in the seasonally adjusted measurement.
The fall in November is the most pronounced in November, when it surpassed that of June, which was 8.4%, but is below the contras of June 2016, when it gave 9.9% and tying the result February 2017 , which was also 9.4%, according to the historical series performed by the entity.
The UIA warned that preliminary data on industrial production in December anticipate a sharp drop as cement shipments contracted 17.9%, other construction materials 31.7% and automotive production fell 38.5% year-on-year.
