The Municipality of Quilmes, through the Ministry of Health, joined the 25th National Campaign for Prevention of Skin Cancer, organized by the Argentine Society of Dermatology (SAD). In this context, on Monday, November 26 from 13, free care will be offered to all patients who, without prior consultation, approach the clinic for suspected skin lesions at the Comprehensive Health Center Julio Méndez de Bernal (9 of July 264).

From the area of Health they explained that, with a focus on prevention, it seeks to raise awareness about the importance of performing the dermatological examination of blemishes and skin blemishes at least once a year.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in humans. In most cases it is curable, so it is important to have the controls. One of its most important causes is unprotected sun exposure or sun loungers. The most effective way to prevent it is education: knowing how, when and how much exposure to the sun.

In this sense, SAD recommends avoiding sun exposure between 10am and 4pm and regularly use sunscreens that block UVA and UVB radiation of recognized quality and whose sun protection factor (SPF) is greater than 30. The product should be applied throughout the skin 20 minutes before exposure and renewed every 2 hours with dry skin. In addition, it is suggested to use a generous amount without forgetting sites like ears, lips and neck.

The campaign is sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Nation and the Ministry of Health of the City of Buenos Aires.
