In recent weeks, Xiaomi has been working on upgrading to Android 9 Pie, which was probably the most important terminal in this house in the year 2017. We refer to Xiaomi Mi A1, which should have been upgraded to Android Pie a few weeks ago.
Android 9 on Xiaomi Mi A1: start beta update
Xiaomi began upgrading the Xiaomi Mi A1 for Android 9 Pie in its beta phase, with a first OTA that activates the FM radio.
But it's better late than never, as the saying goes, and some users are starting to get the final version of this new firmware without having to register in the beta, and therefore no problems or system crashes. At least in theory.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is updated with an important novelty
One of the few failures that we could put this model was that it was a mid-range smartphone that did not have FM radio. This is especially important in Spain, where many people listen to the radio on the move.
How to use the Xiaomi Mi A1's FM radio in a simple way
We explained how we can use the FM radio that is integrated into the Xiaomi MI A1, but I have not used the Android application to use it.
Well, the owners of the Mi A1 are in luck as the update will activate the FM chip that this smartphone brings.
Android 9 cake arrives with all the news
In addition to this system-independent update, we see how Pie improvements will be on Mi A1, such as Digital Wellbeing, where we can see how much time we spend on apps.
The control gestures are also incorporated, like the Pixel 3, although in the Mi A1 does not make as much sense as in the Mi A2 or A2 Lite, since in last year's model we still have haptic buttons in the bottom frame.
In the published screenshots we also see how the interface is modified in the application area and in the sound control area of the system.
This OTA occupies 1074.9 MB and there are markets in which it has already begun to be deployed, such as Bangladesh. Unless there are setbacks like those that occurred in the jump from Nougat to Oreo, it is expected that in a few weeks the update will reach more countries, such as Spain.
