One of the hardworking Elisa Carrió and the members of the Civic Coalition is the fight against corruption through denunciations in court. Along these lines, the government ally always focuses on the functioning of the Judiciary in relation to these causes. Now, the party that the lawmaker leads has a report in which he summarized the state of organized crime cases and corruption, and also left a number of questions to the times and other deficiencies of justice.
"Justice closes the causes without investigating or delaying them, for lack of freedom to advance investigations, or lack of courage and, in some cases, in exchange for personal benefits or profit", reads in one of the first paragraphs of the hard report in which "lights and shadows of the Argentine justice" are exposed, as it was titled.
The document presented by the CC also noted that "the causes generally do not advance against officials who belong to the day's power, or have the coverage of it, and in the few cases they proceed are usually when they take public status and the judges they feel much watched by public opinion, or the end of a government is approaching. This has made Argentina an outlaw country. "
In fact, he exemplified the recent acquittal of Carlos Menem in the case of alleged smuggling of arms: "Scandalous events occur like that of former President Menem, who was acquitted by the Board of Cassation after more than twenty years of unjustifiably delaying the investigation. on arms smuggling. So, of course, the deputies of the Civic-Ari Coalition called for the impeachment of Judges Catucci, Riggi and Mahiques, just as we have filed so many lawsuits against judges and prosecutors across the country. "
The letter also recalls the cause known as "Triple Crime of General Rodriguez," and explains: "The cause of ephedrine, the financing of electoral campaigns for drug trafficking … are intertwined in the above plot of organized crime / political power / impunity granted by Justice ". In this context, the document that Elisa Carrió subscribes does not fail to mention in particular a former official: "This explains why Aníbal Fernández is one of the most impunity people in the country. "
The report was accompanied by an extensive chart summarizing the state of 110 criminal complaints filed by CC. The document warns that, of all of them, "sixteen were immediately filed and eight were closed without any investigation, up to five years later, for alleged absence of crime. They remained active only in appearance, but without any actual jurisdictional activity. There are still many causes that only after four or five years have been resolved what the court intervened. On the contrary, the total number of high cases for trial turns out to be only four, not counting a firm sentence. "
The text continues to emphasize the remarkable times of Justice: "The causes that continue in the stage of instruction reach 82, even when some date from the years of 2006 and 2008, like the denunciation by the emptying of the YPF and the mega cause by the illicit association ".
In the end, it describes that, based on the exposed analysis, there is a "very little encouraging picture in relation to the action mainly of Federal Justice". In any case, it is emphasized that there is a "contrary to the results observed in the last years". An important fact should not be omitted: during the period 2016/2018, many of those reported by Elisa Carrió and the Civic Coalition were charged, prosecuted and even in custody, such as Julio De Vido, Roberto Baratta, Ricardo Jaime, Claudio Uberti, Rudi Ulloa Igor, Cristóbal López, Lázaro Baez, Carlos Wagner, among others.
