Credit card transactions grow

The item that grew the most was sales of cellular telephony, with 26.2%.

The number of transactions with credit and debit cards registered annual increases of 7.3% and 14.2% respectively, Atacyc, the industry chamber, said on Sunday.

The second item with the highest growth was the purchase of air tickets, with growth of 24.6% and 54.6%.

In credit cards, the item that grew the most in sales was cellular, with a year-on-year increase of 26.2% in the number of transactions and 57% in value.

In second place was the purchase of air tickets, with growth of 24.6% and 54.6%, respectively.

On the debit card side, Linhas Aéreas increased the number of transactions, with a 61.8% increase in the number of transactions and a 77.6% increase in volume, followed by the Payment of Services, with increases of 49.8% % and 101%, respectively.

On the other hand, the item that presented setbacks with credit cards in relation to October 2017 was Home Articles, with a drop of 23.1% in total transactions.

Meanwhile, on debit cards items that decreased the number of transactions were Furniture and Mattresses (-11.9%), Apparel and Footwear (-9.0%) and Consumer Goods (-8.0%).
