CES 2019: Kia introduced the car that detects the mood of the passengers and changes depending on it

Under the CES 2019, the world's most important technological exhibition, Kia introduced the concept of Real-time Emotion Adaptive (READ). It is a system that modifies the interior of the cars according to the mood of the passengers.

To detect your mood, it uses sensors that they read their facial expressions, heart rate and electro-dermal activity. According to the mapping, it adapts the interior based on the conditions related to the five senses inside the cabin.

It is a biological signal recognition technology based on artificial intelligence. The interactive booth was considered by the Asian automaker as "a focal point for future mobility". They estimate that it will be available after the arrival of the autonomous cars.

"It will facilitate the continuous communication between drivers and their vehicles through a non-verbal language of sensations and thus providing in real time an optimized space oriented towards the senses"said Albert Biermann, president and head of Kia's research and development division.

At the same time, the READ system will work next to the seats. Those will vibrate to the rhythm of the music so passengers can "feel" their favorite themes as well as listen to them.

Next to READ, Kia introduced a technology called V-Touch that uses a 3D camera to monitor the user's line of sight and fingertips. Like this, allows you to control various vehicle functions with just one hand gesture.

Kia estimates that this technology will be available after the arrival of the autonomous cars.
