In a new display of chaos, confusion, disorder and maladministration, the AFA decided to increase promotions from the First B Metropolitan to the National B for the restructuring of the tournaments, but was in full contest of the championship.
Now, there will be five teams that will rise to the highest promotion category, as they will be the top four in the standings table and a fifth that will leave a Reduced one that will dispute the equipment that finishes between the fifth and the eighth position.
The AFA Executive Committee, through an Assembly, approved the restructuring of National B, which will have a total of 32 participants as of mid-2019, divided into two areas of 16 teams.
Although the AFA initially planned to split the teams into two zones – Interior and Metropolitan -, this will not be the case, since there will be a choice of the members of each group so that all clubs are in the same trip.
Those who did not agree with this restructuring were the clubs of the interior, because there will be five Metro B climbs and only two from Federal A.
Currently, National B has 25 teams. At the end of the season (in the middle of next year) two will be promoted to the Super League and the same amount will fall (one directly and one indirectly affiliated to the AFA), then there will be 21. They should be added to the four falling from First and the seven that rise.
Today, with this restructuring, they would move from the B Buenos Aires Underground, Central Tents (the AFA President's team, Chiqui Tapia), Atlanta and Acassuso, and the Reduced would Riestra, All Boys, Tristán Suárez and Admiral Brown.
What has not yet been defined by the Executive Committee is what will happen with the First C and the D. Currently, the C has 20 participants; while the D, with 15.
