Cape Town – De Doorns community videos looting trucks and embarking on protest actions have gone viral on social media.
On Thursday, the strike action at De Doorns began to be looted with residents seen fleeing TVs and other products after two trucks were attacked.
Protesters are agricultural workers who are earning higher wages.
Western Cape SAPS spokesman Noloyiso Rwexana said police were on the scene and are investigating.
"Public order policing units (POPs) and other law enforcement agencies are on the scene in De Doorns, where members of the community went on strike. Two trucks have been reported, police are accompanying the people who plundered the truck.
