Naomi Watts stated that the next spin-off of "Game Of Thrones" will not let fans down, as the filming starts in Northern Ireland.

The next spin-off, tentatively titled Bloodmoon, is scheduled to happen thousands of years before the main show – mapping the descent of Age Of Heroes.

Spin-off footage is believed to have started "in several places" in County Down and on the north coast of Ireland last week, the same place where there were many scenes for the first season of Game of Thrones.

Naomi Watts, who plays a major unknown role in the spin-off, spoke about her fears of following one of the biggest television shows.

Talking to AP EntertainmentNaomi said, "It's intimidating. It's very exciting, having just stepped out of the last series where the world was exploding.

"It was all about Game of Thrones – all the advertising on TV, every article – everyone is jumping on that wave.

She added, "Hopefully, these fans come and find something new and interesting in this world too.

"I think they will not disappoint, it's a great team of people they've joined."

Along with Naomi, the show features an impressive cast including John Simm, Miranda Richardson, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie and Richard McCabe.

Bloodmoon is written by screenwriter Jane Goldman and the author of Game Of Thrones, George RR Martin.

An official synopsis for the spin-off says: "Occurring thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the descent of the world of the Golden Age of Heroes in its darkest hour.

"And only one thing is certain: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Stark of legend … is not the story that we think we know."

Game Of Thrones came out with a controversial bang last month in its eighth season, with many more spin-offs believed to be in the pipeline.
