Elon Musk says you can change the world by working 80 hours a week

Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he knows how many hours a week you need to work to change the world, and it's not a small number.

"There are a lot easier places to work, but no one has changed the world in 40 hours a week," he said in a tweet, after saying that SpaceX, Tesla, Boring Company and Neuralink are places for you. "

When asked by a user exactly how many hours a person had to work a week to change the world, he said that 80 was a sustainable number, with peaks above 100 sometimes.

"The pain level rises exponentially above 80," he warned.

The comments came just a day after broadcasting an Axios interview with Musk on HBO in which he said Tesla came only a few weeks of financial ruin during his frantic and expensive effort to increase production of the 3-sedan model.

"The company was bleeding money like crazy, and if we did not solve those problems in a very short period of time, we would die," said Musk, who is sometimes able to sleep in his factory at the interview.
