Asus launches new ZenBook series, VivoBook and ROG in SA

This week, Asus South Africa has released five new ZenBook laptops, plus two additions to the VivoBook series and the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Zephyrus line.

Most notably among hardware upgrades, your ZenBook Pro 14 has a ScreenPad instead of a basic trackpad – a high-resolution, color touchscreen that has its own mini-interface. It works as a secondary screen that can turn into a numeric keypad, calendar and even a music controller or a calculator.

The ZenBook range now includes the ZenBook 13, 14 and 15, the ZenBook Pro 14 and the ZenBook Flip 13 and 15. All 2019 ZenBooks have ultra-thin frames with up to 95% aspect ratio. Nobody else likes the panel, it seems.

The 13-inch and 14-inch ZenBooks models also optionally include a numeric keypad – a LED-backed numeric keypad built into the trackpad. Because laptops are so small that stock keyboards do not fit together anymore. All ZenBook models feature 3D IR camera login features, 8th generation Intel Core i7 quad-core CPUs, up to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics card and 16GB of RAM.

The ZenBook Flip 15 and 13 are also equipped with Intel Core 8th generation processors. They feature touch screens and pen holder. The ZenBook Flip 15 actually has an Nvidia video card under the hood and a Pantone Validated monitor for precise color rendering. We are sure that this is what you get for a designer who has chosen to never touch a Mac again after the … crash.

Meanwhile, the VivoBook 14in X412 and the 15in X512 are also new inputs, both powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor and using Nvidia graphics cards. These are not made just for productivity, but also as fashion accessories. Hence all the shades.

The VivoBooks are available in four colors including clear silver, slate gray, peacock blue and coral smashing. They all feature an ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard lightly to keep the machine cooler while creating a comfortable typing surface. Beats playing with inconvenient keyboard feet or an angled laptop tray.

New series of Asus games, the The Zephyrus range is a more portable machine that has enough power to satisfy the gaming elite. The range is equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 20-Series Max-Q GPUs and 8th generation Intel Core i7 processors.

ZenBook 14 and 15, Flip 15 and Zephyrus will be available in SA in February, while ZenBook 13, Pro 14, Flip 13 and VivoBook 14 and 15 will be available in select stores starting in March.
