Alvaro Morata scored twice while undefeated Chelsea moved up to second place in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

After Liverpool drew with Arsenal on Saturday, Chelsea knew their win would give them second place, and Spanish striker Morata saw them in good form.

First, the 26-year-old striker controlled and converted Pedro's cross into the 32nd minute of the second half, and after Andros Townsend equalized, Morata, who is often beaten, kicked in the 65th minute of his fourth goal in four games of the championship.

Pedro then sealed the victory five minutes later, entering the area to convert Marcos Alonso's cross to the 70's for a Chelsea side, who also received Eden Hazard as substitute in the second half.

Chelsea, one of three unbeaten teams, has 27 points from 11 games – two behind Manchester City – and leads Liverpool in third on goal difference.

Meanwhile, the Palace has only won twice in the league this season and remains 14th with eight points.
